Sentencing for South Dakota men
Posted: 09/05/12 09:12 Two South Dakota men accused of shooting at a Nebraska state trooper have been sentenced to prison. Authorities say 22-year-old Aleksandr Voznyuk, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and 19-year-old Petr Strizheus, of Harrisburg, S.D., had fired at the trooper during a Kearney County vehicle chase in January. The officer was not hurt, but his cruiser was hit once. Both men made deals with prosecutors. Both pleaded no contest to unlawful discharge of a firearm and to attempted first-degree assault on an officer. Strizheus was given 15 to 30 years in prison. Voznyuk was given 15 to 45 years. |
